Groomsperson is a short comedy about two trans people trying to find a dress for a wedding, and everything that can possibly go wrong, does. It's loosely based on the experiences of the director: about two years ago, they were invited to be a groomsman at their college roommate's wedding, but they didn't feel comfortable wearing a suit. They decided to wear a dress to the wedding, but finding a dress that matched the color palette of the groomsmen was a complex process. The film addresses some of the challenges of the beginning stages of transition: the pressures of presenting outside of gender norms, the anxieties of creating new communities, and the expectations of formal events like weddings.
